Who we are

Hi, I'm Hugo — founder of AccessEdge and a 1st year BSc Economics undergraduate at the London School of Economics.

I went to a non-selective state school where high academic expectations existed, but structured support for top university admissions was limited. Like many students, I had the ambition — but not always the guidance. As the first to go to university in the UK in my family, I spent months navigating the system on my own, filtering through endless advice online, trying to figure out what actually worked.

I achieved 4 A*s at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Economics, and earned 12 Grade 9s at GCSE — placing me among the top 125 students out of over 643,000 in the UK.

Now, I want to pass that edge on to others.

But what mattered more than the results was the process I went through to get there.

That’s why I founded AccessEdge — to give other students the clear, structured, and personalised support I wish I had when I was applying. Whether you're trying to reach top grades, preparing for competitive university applications, or just want someone who truly understands what you're going through — I’ve been in your position.

I’d truly love to help so drop us an email at contact@accessedge.co.uk

Hey, I’m Shayne.

I’ve secured offers from both Imperial College London and the University of Oxford to study Engineering — one of the most competitive STEM degrees in the UK. But my journey here wasn’t always straightforward.

Coming from an ethnic minority background, I didn’t have a network of people who had gone through the same process. I faced moments of self-doubt and uncertainty about whether I could compete in such a selective field. Over time, I learned how to approach STEM applications with strategy, focus, and the confidence to back up my ability.

Now, I use that experience to help students aiming for the toughest courses — especially those who might feel underrepresented or unsure about their chances. My goal is to make the process clear, structured, and achievable, so my students not only perform at their best but also believe they belong at the very top.

Hi, I’m Adam — and I’m about to start studying Mathematics at the University of Bath but I also received an offer to study Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.

Applying for Maths at Oxbridge was very daunting. It’s not just about having strong grades — you have to prove your ability to think creatively under pressure, tackle the toughest problems in the STEP exam, and hold your own in interviews that push your mathematical thinking to the limit.

When I went through the process, I threw myself into every resource I could find. I spent hours unpicking past papers, trying different problem-solving strategies, and figuring out exactly what the admissions teams were looking for. It was intense, but it taught me so much — not just about maths, but about how to prepare in the smartest way possible.

Now, I want to share that with others. Helping students master STEP, walk confidently into their interview, and show the best version of themselves is something I find incredibly fulfilling.

Hi, I’m Fin!

I’m a 1st year Chemistry undergraduate at Oxford, and proud to be the first from my school to achieve this. Alongside my own studies — achieving 4 A*s at A-Level — I’ve always had a passion for helping others learn. I started out tutoring my younger brothers, which gave me years of experience in breaking down complex topics and building confidence step by step.

I know how intimidating Oxbridge applications can feel, especially when doubts creep in. That’s why I’m committed to supporting students not just academically, but also in believing they are capable of reaching the very top. Whether it’s mastering Chemistry, pushing for top grades across A-Levels, or navigating the competitive Oxbridge admissions process, I find it incredibly rewarding to help others achieve their potential.

I’m Jakub, an incoming Law undergraduate at the London School of Economics. My academic journey has been shaped by curiosity, persistence, and a drive to explore opportunities beyond the standard path. I achieved A*A*A*A at A-Level, having sat one of my subjects early, which gave me a head start in understanding how to approach A-Levels strategically and with confidence.

Alongside my studies, I’ve built a wide breadth of admissions experience. I’ve sat the LNAT — tackling both the multiple-choice and essay sections — and I understand first-hand the preparation needed to succeed and gain a competitive score for top universities.

What drives me most is helping ambitious students see the bigger picture. Applying to top universities can feel overwhelming, but with the right preparation and mindset, it becomes an exciting opportunity. My goal is to share what I’ve learned so that others can approach their studies — and their applications — with clarity, strategy, and confidence.
